ANKARA - The law that unites Ministries of Culture and Tourism was published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday and went into force.
The law unites the Ministries of Tourism and Culture within single structure. According to the law, the new ministry will be composed of nine central units and offices in Turkey and abroad. The law does not change the organization of Tourism Ministry abroad.
The offices of Culture Ministry in Ashkabat, Almaty, Bishkek, Baku, Dushanbe, Cairo, Copenhagen, New York, Sarajevo, Tashkent, Tunis, and Skopje will continue to carry out their activities, while others offices of the Ministry abroad will be closed within three months.
The central organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be composed of Fine Arts Directorate General, Directorate General of Cultural Assets and Museums, Directorate General of Libraries and Publications, Directorate General of Copy Rights and Cinema, Directorate General of Investment and Managements, Directorate General of Promotion, Directorate General of Research and Education, Directorate General of National Library, and Directorate of Coordination Department for EU.
A total of 7,331 permanent staff positions were opened in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
