ABANT - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that he would pay a visit to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in a few days.
Erdogan responded to the questions of reporters following consultation meeting of Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
Erdogan said they closely covered the developments in Cyprus, stating that the steps taken there began to yield in positive outcomes.
Erdogan said, ''it will be better in time. I will pay a visit to TRNC within a few days and meet with TRNC President, government administrators and all political parties. Thus, we will reveal the sincerity to turn Cyprus an island of peace.''
Responding to a question, Erdogan said their target was to better the atmosphere in Turkey. He said, ''we see that the economic parameters are at a better point when compared with last year's figures.''
Erdogan said, ''if Turkey is to experience a transformation period, and if it is to experience it in a contemporary way, we should do what is necessary. Strengthening of local administrations is one of the most important issues in the EU regulations. We aim at taking steps to develop every part of Turkey extending from the east to the west.''
