SARS ALARM IN FOREIGN MINISTRY
Foreign Ministry sent an article to the embassies in Far East countries where ''Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)'' virus was seen, and stated that representations could be closed temporarily if necessary. Ambassadors were authorized to make the decision whether or not to evacuate the embassies.

WE ARE WAITING FOR THE EUROPEAN COMPANIES TO INVEST IN TURKEY
State Minister Ali Babacan said they wished not only the companies in France, but also all the big companies in European countries to invest in Turkey.
Babacan spoke to reporters at Ankara's Esenboga Airport before leaving for France to participate in Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) meetings and meet with French Business Confederation administrators.

DENKTAS: ''I CANNOT FIND SEAT AT RESTAURANT''
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas is pleased. He said, ''Greek Cypriots who rushed into here saw that TRNC was not groaning under occupation. Greek Cypriot administration's plans were spoiled.'' Denktas who opened borders of TRNC with a historical decision said, ''our people do not quarrel to pass Greek Cypriot side. On the contrary, Greek Cypriots cause crush to pass here. I cannot find seat at restaurants. Plans of Greek Cypriot administration and our opponents were spoiled. It is seen that everything was propaganda.''

NIGHTMARE ON U.S. CONSULATE STREET
The street where U.S. consulate takes place in Tepebasi district of Istanbul has been closed to traffic for months due to fear of terror. Pedestrians have been watched by cameras. Those who walk around much and take photographs are interrogated. Tradesmen rebel as they have no more customers. One hotel went bankrupt and a restaurant is about to go into financial decline.

FREE ELECTRICITY TO POOR PEOPLE FOR CONTROL OF ILLEGAL USAGE
Turkish Electrical Distribution Corporation (TEDAS) will increase the number of its subscribers and take them under registration by providing free electricity to poor people where illegal usage of electricity is high. Pilot provinces will be southeast Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa and a certain kilowatt of electric will be given to subscriber free.

SARS ASSURANCE
Quarantine in negative-pressurized rooms will be implemented to ''Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)'' patients in southern Antalya province which opened tourism season. Border and Coasts Director General Gumrukcuoglu said that sufficient measures against SARS were taken in touristic provinces. Negative-pressurized rooms were prepared to provide certain quarantining for SARS suspected people in Antalya Medical Science Faculty.

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), after free passages, will take steps for facilitation of bilateral trade with Greek Cypriot side. CLASH IN BINGOL
Patrolling security forces encountered a group of PKK-KADEK terrorists in rural area of Yeniyazi village in Genc Township in southeastern Bingol province.
Terrorists opened gunfire against the security forces who called them to surrender. Reinforcement was sent to the region. Security forces opened a wide-scale operation in the region.

IRAQ POLICY TO BE RENEWED
Turkey determines the policy which it would cover in rebuilding process of Iraq after war. Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul met yesterday with National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Undersecretary Senkal Atasagun and General Staff Operation Chairman Koksal Karabay.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz, who spoke after the meeting, pointed out that post-war situation in Iraq was mainly discussed at the meeting, stating that all related unites of the state were in an effort to form a policy.

PROBLEMS SOLVED WITH RUSSIA ABOUT PIPELINE
Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said tax problems between Turkey and Russia about the Blue Stream project were solved.
Briefing about the results of his visit to Russia, Unakitan said tax problems which appeared in Blue Stream natural gas pipeline agreement were solved.

ERDOGAN: WE WILL GET ACTIVE ROLE IN IRAQ
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey would take place both in political and physical rebuilding of Iraq. ''We have taken steps in this respect'' he stated.
Erdogan said they prevented Turkish soldiers from being suffered by opening air corridor to the U.S. units.

TURKISH HOSPITALITY FASCINATES GREEK CYPRIOTS IN FOUR DAYS
Friendship bridges are re-build again between Turkish and Greek Cypriots after Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) decided to allow passages from the Green Line. Due to huge crowds caused by free passages, 2.5 Miles Land Entrance Gate was also opened to passage. Passages of Greek Cypriots increased on the fourth day of opening of borders. Greek Cypriot press mentions about sincere and warm attitude of Turkish Cypriots.

SOUTHEAST REPORT TO ERDOGAN
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) parliamentarian Irfan Riza Yazicioglu prepared a report about the issues which may be done ''urgently'' in the East and Southeast. The report will be presented to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Yazicioglu stated that the region was neglected by the previous governments, and that no investment had been made. Yazicioglu called on the capital not to go to the west.
