ANKARA - Foreign Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz said on Saturday that developments about Iraq were evaluated in all means during the Iraq meeting which took place in foreign ministry under the leadership of Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.
Dirioz, who made a statement following two hour meeting, stressed the importance of such meetings. Dirioz said this was not an extraordinary, but a routine meeting, noting that post-war situation was evaluated. He said all related institutions of the state should come together and establish a policy.
Pointing out that coordination regarded with re-building process of Iraq in economic means was proposed by Foreign Ministry, Dirioz said National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Undersecretary Senkal Atasagun, officials from General Staff, and Turkey's Ambassador in Baghdad Osman Paksut also participated in the meeting.
Dirioz said not only military and political dimensions of re-building process, but also economic issues and humanitarian aid were discussed.
Dirioz said Iraq issue was discussed by all means, noting that Foreign Ministry would brief the Prime Minister and government members about the meeting.
