ANKARA - Legal Researches Association launched on Wednesday an aid campaign for the Iraqi children upon the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
The slogan of the campaign is ''children should not be left without their mothers and fathers, and mothers and fathers should not be left without their children.''
Members of the association and children who convened in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara were carrying Turkish flag and balloons and banners writing, ''they have darkened my world as a child'', ''can Bush give back the eyes of Ali?'' and ''we want peace in the world we are living.''
Children were carrying a banner writing ''no to war. Cruel Bush, take your bloody hands off the children'' and a girl said, ''let April 23 bring peace to all children. We don't want children to die.''
Dilek Karakaya, a member of the association, said that Iraqi people paid heavy prices with hunger, misery and tears in the name of ''freedom.''
Karakaya said, ''we feel deep sorrow over the pains of innocent Iraqi people and we want to say that we are always beside them. It is now the time of being hand in hand with them, competing with each other to do favor, being beside Iraqi people, sharing the pains of Iraqi mothers, and making Iraqi people laugh even if it is difficult.''
Noting that they believed that everybody should be in solidarity with the Iraqi people, Karakaya called on everybody to join their aid campaign.
