Baykal And C.H.P. Deputies Not To Attend April 23 Reception

ANKARA - Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal said on Tuesday that his party saw that the government diverted from its main targets and that CHP deputies would not attend the April 23 reception.
Speaking in the parliament, Baykal said that the efforts of changing the constitutional regime radically, and efforts of adopting the presidential system caused uneasiness in the society. Noting that he and his wife would not participate in the reception to be hosted by Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc on Wednesday, Baykal said that he didn't think that CHP deputies would attend it, too.
''I hope this warning could be understood and assessed well by the government,'' Baykal said.
