20,000 Tons Of Food Sent To Iraq Via Turkey

ANKARA - The U.N. World Food Program (WFP) is foreseen to purchase 450-500 thousand tons of food stuff from Turkey to meet food need of Iraq.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz said WFP purchased 101 thousand tons of foodstuff from Turkey so far.
A total of 20,000 tons of foodstuff were transported to Iraq via Turkey in the past three weeks.
Turkish transportation companies were paid around seven million U.S. dollars in return for this.
The program envisages passage of 100 lorries every day from Habur gate.
