ANKARA - European Union (EU) Commissioner responsible for budget Michaele Schreyer will pay a two-day visit to Ankara on April 24.
Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said Schreyer, within the framework of his contacts in Ankara, will meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, State Minister Ali Babacan, National Education Minister Huseyin Celik, Customs Undersecretary Nevzat Saygilioglu and Mehmet Damar, the Chairman of the Government Accounting Bureau.
The statement recalled that this will be the first visit of Schreyer to Turkey, noting that financial cooperation between Turkey and the EU, facilities for Turkey to benefit from the EU funds, cooperation within the scope of education and culture programs, and macro-economic reform efforts in Turkey are expected to be discussed during his contacts.
Schreyer will also hold contacts in Istanbul on April 25.
