Turkey EU minister comments on Greece bailout negotiations

- Turkish EU Minister Volkan Bozkir "the more prosperity Greece has, the better for Turkey."

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish EU Minister Volkan Bozkir commented on Greece's recent negotiations with the Eurogroup over its bailout and massive debt on Tuesday, saying "the more prosperity Greece has, the better for Turkey."

Bozkir said the EU may give Greece a contribution worth €8 billion and added that the picture will be clarified for Greece in the upcoming period.

Talks between Greece and finance ministers from the 19-country Eurozone in Brussels ended early as Athens rejected the offer to extend and make no changes to the €240 billion loan.

Greece’s leftist Syriza party, elected on the promise that it would end austerity measures, is demanding changes to the country’s massive bailout, which expires on Feb. 28.
