Ghana beat Eq. Guinea 3-0 in Africa Cup

ANKARA - Ghana beat 2015 Africa Cup of Nations' hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in the semifinal Thursday night.

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew scored the opening goal of the match in Malabo by converting the penalty successfully in the 40th minute, 1-0.

In injury time of the first half, Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso doubled the score, 2-0.

In 75th minute of the match, Ghana made it three when their forward Andre Ayew found the net in the area while he was free, 3-0.

Seven minutes later, the referee stopped the game for a bit when water bottles and various materials were thrown by Equatorial Guinea fans. The match restarted after the interruption lasting more than 30 minutes.

Ghana will now meet Ivory Coast in the tournament’s final match on Feb. 8. Meanwhile losers of the semis, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Equatorial Guinea will play third place playoff on Feb. 7.
