West Bromwich snatch Manchester Utd midfielder

ANKARA -  West Bromwich Albion have added Manchester United veteran Darren Fletcher to their squad before the deadline of the mid-season transfer window in U.K. on Tuesday.

According to the statement on English Premier League club's website, 31-year-old Scottish central midfielder inked a two-and-a-half-year deal, with a one-year extension option, with the club.

"I've spent my career at Manchester United and it's all I've ever known. But I felt it was the right time to move and I'm not sentimental about doing that - I have great memories obviously, but I'm now a West Bromwich Albion player and I cannot wait to get going," Fletcher said after the signing ceremony.

It is reported that West Bromwich Albion will not pay Manchester United any transfer fee.

Having started his football career at Manchester United's youth academy when he was 11, the Scottish football player Darren Fletcher had 24 goals and 27 assists in 347 appearances.
