Russia's Leviathan receives a nomination for best foreign language film at this year's Academy Awards

MOSCOW - Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev's film Leviathan has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film tells the story of a man living in Russia's far east and his struggle against a corrupt mayor who wants his land. It is described as a modern retelling of the Biblical story of Job. 

The film is competing for the award with Poland's Ida, Estonia's Tangerines, Mauritania's Timbuktu, and Argentina's Wild Tales.
