UPDATE - Police arrest Serb with explosives in Kosovo

- Serb national detained for 30 days in Kosovo after being arrested for allegedly possessing more than 12 kilograms of explosives.

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina (AA) - A Serb national has been detained for 30 days in Kosovo after being arrested for allegedly possessing more than 12 kilograms of explosives in the back of his car. 

"Gavric admitted to committing a criminal act by importing explosives with the aim of selling them, but denied the accusation of organizing terrorist acts," Hamdi Ibrahimi, president of Kosovo's municipal court, said.

Police believe Gavric, 46, was planning to attack embassy buildings in the nearby Arbre district.

Authorities said the two offenses carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Kosovo police said they carried out the operation in Arberia neighborhood after a receiving a tip from the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.
